| Redeemer Lutheran School - Austin, Texas Tile Wall Mural - Fundraiser "New Every Morning" Start Date - September 2010 Final Install Date - July 2011 Before Photos of the "main" tile wall and adjoining side wall Mural Process: 1. A complete sketch of the wall mural, containing 550 tiles was completed. Each tile was hand-cut and individually designed for specific placement in the mural. The mural consists of 4x4" and 6x6" tiles both flat and raised tiles. The mural is divided into 3 sections: Sun, sky and water. 2. Sample tiles were created for fundraising/selling purposes. Once tiles were sold the purchasers were invited to a painting day at the school. At the painting day artists were provided all materials to create their own unique tile for the mural. 3. Finally once all tiles are painted and fired the final project will be installed. Check back for more photos. |
| Hill Country Bible Church - Austin, Texas Mugs for a Mission - Youth Group Fundraiser Over 50 youth gathered on a cold day in December 2010 to paint unique mugs for their youth fundraiser. Once the mugs were painted and fired the youth held a "Star Party" gathering in January 2011 and sold the mugs for a profit. At the party mug purchasers could fill their mug with a warm cup of hot cocoa. |
| Austin Empty Bowl Project - Austin, Texas Benefit supporting the Capital Area Food Bank On October 24, 2010 A Home for Art was honored to be a part of the Austin Empty Bowl Project. Over 100 bowls were available for members of the Austin community to gather and paint. Artists paid $10 to paint a bowl that was then donated to the Empty Bowl Project. Once painted and fired the bowls were donated to the Capital Area Food Bank's annual fundraising event held on November 21, 2010. Thanks for the wonderful creations! |
